Snapdragon is an iPhone app that names plants from photos. It's made by {{OWNER}} ("we"). This page says what the app collects, why, who else sees it, and how you can delete it. We don't sell your data, we don't show ads, and we don't track you across other apps or websites.
What we collect
- Your account. When you sign in with Apple or Google, we keep the email address it shares with us and an account ID. If you choose Apple's "Hide My Email", we only see the relay address Apple gives us. If you try the app as a guest, we keep only an account ID.
- Your photos. The plant photos you take or pick in the app: snaps, photos of your saved plants, and health check photos.
- What you save. The plants you add to My plants, your collections, notes, timelines, the results of each plant ID and health check, and your planting guide.
- Location. Only if you allow it. We save the place where each photo was taken, so you can find your plants again, and we use your area to show plants that grow near you and to look up your growing zone and frost dates.
Some settings, like your appearance choice and reminders, stay only on your iPhone.
Who else gets it
We use a few services to run the app. Each gets only what it needs.
- Plant.id by Kindwise receives each photo you check, and the place it was taken if you allowed location, so it can name the plant or look for problems.
- Supabase stores your account, photos, and everything you save, on servers in the United States.
- Vercel runs our server, which passes your photos to Plant.id and saves the results.
- Apple and Google handle sign-in if you use them. Apple Maps turns your location into a place name.
- GBIF.org receives a rounded location (about 1 km) to find the plants recorded near you. NASA POWER receives a rounded location to look up frost dates. Neither gets your account or photos.
We'll share information if the law requires it. If Snapdragon is ever sold, this policy goes with it.
Your photo library
If you turn on "Also save to Photos", the app saves a copy of each garden photo to a Snapdragon album on your iPhone. It doesn't read or upload anything else in your library.
How long we keep it
We keep your data until you delete it or delete your account. Deleting a snap or a plant in the app deletes its photos too.
Deleting your account
In the app, open More, tap your account, then tap Delete account. That deletes your account, every plant, snap, note, and photo from our servers right away. You can also email us and we'll do it for you.
Children
Snapdragon isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has an account, email us and we'll delete it.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to fix it, or ask us to delete it. Email us and we'll answer within 30 days. Depending on where you live (for example California or the EU), you may have more rights under local law, and we'll honor them.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If the change matters, we'll tell you in the app.
